Глава 13

1 В восемнадцатый год царствования Иеровоама, сына Навата, в Израиле новым царём Иуды стал Авия.

2 Он царствовал в Иерусалиме три года.

3 Авия собрал четыреста тысяч храбрых воинов в свою армию и повёл их на битву. В войске Иеровоама насчитывалось восемьсот тысяч храбрых воинов, и они приготовились к войне с Авией.

4 Авия взошёл на Цемариамскую гору, в горной стране Ефрема, и сказал: «Иеровоам и весь Израиль, слушайте меня!

5 Вы должны знать, что Господь, Бог Израиля, дал Давиду и его сыновьям право вечно царствовать над Израилем. Бог дал это право Давиду согласно соглашению соли.

6 Но Иеровоам, сын Навата, восстал против своего господина! Иеровоам был одним из слуг Соломона, сына Давида.

7 Затем никчёмные и плохие люди объединились с Иеровоамом и пошли вместе с ним против Ровоама, сына Соломона. Ровоам же был молод и неопытен и поэтому не смог устоять против них.

8 Теперь ты, Иеровоам, и народ Израиля вместе с тобой строите планы против царства Господа. Царство Господа принадлежит сыновьям Давида. Вас много и у вас есть золотые тельцы, которых Иеровоам сделал вашими богами.

9 Вы выгнали священников Господа, сыновей Аарона и левитов. Вы выбрали себе священников, как делают это народы других стран. И всякий, кто приходит с телёнком и с семью баранами, может стать священником этих лжебогов.

10 А для нас Господь — наш Бог. Мы не отказались подчиняться Ему! Господу служат священники, сыновья Аарона, и левиты также выполняют свои обязанности перед Господом.

11 Они приносят жертвы всесожжения и сжигают благовонное курение Господу каждое утро и каждый вечер. Они также кладут рядами хлеб на особом столе в храме и ставят золотые светильники с лампадами, чтобы они горели каждый вечер. Мы выполняем обязанности, указанные нам Господом, Богом нашим, в то время как ты, Иеровоам, и народ Израиля вместе с тобой оставили Его.

12 С нами Сам Бог, Правитель наш, Его священники также с нами. Они трубят в трубы, созывая нас на войну против вас. Израильтяне, не воюйте против Господа, Бога ваших предков, потому что вам не будет сопутствовать успех!»

13 Но Иеровоам послал отряд воинов, чтобы они зашли с тыла войска Авии. Войско Иеровоама стояло перед войском Авии, а его отряд в засаде находился позади войска Авии.

14 Когда воины из иудейского войска оглянулись, они увидели, что войско Иеровоама атаковало их и спереди, и сзади. Тогда иудеи воззвали к Господу, а священники затрубили в трубы.

15 Все иудеи издали громкий клич, и, когда они закричали, Бог поразил войско Иеровоама. Всё израильское войско было разбито войском Авии из Иудеи.

16 Израильтяне побежали от иудеев. Бог позволил иудеям поразить израильское войско.

17 Войско Авии нанесло сильное поражение израильскому войску, и было тогда убито пятьсот тысяч лучших воинов Израиля.

18 Народ Израиля потерпел поражение, а народ Иудеи одержал победу. Они победили, потому что полагались на Господа, Бога их предков.

19 Авия преследовал войско Иеровоама и захватил города Вефиль, Иешану и Ефрон, а также селения вокруг них.

20 Иеровоам так никогда снова и не обрёл силы, пока был жив Авия. Господь убил Иеровоама,

21 а Авия стал могущественным царём. У него было четырнадцать жён, и стал он отцом двадцати двух сыновей и шестнадцати дочерей.

22 Все остальные дела Авии описаны в книгах пророка Адды.

2 Chronicles

Chapter 13

1 IN the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam the son of Nebat Abijah began to reign over the tribe of Judah.

2 He reigned three years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Maachah the daughter of Uriel of Ramtha.

3 And Abijah mobilized an army of valiant men of war, four hundred thousand young men, who took upon themselves to go and fight against Jeroboam the son of Nebat. And Jeroboam also had mobilized an army, and he came to fight against him with eight hundred thousand young men, being mighty men of valour.

4 And Abijah stood up upon mount Zemaraim, which is in the border of mount Ephraim, and said. Hear me, O Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and all Israel;

5 Perhaps you know that the LORD God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant pertaining to the kingship.

6 Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, rose up and rebelled against his lord.

7 And he gathered to him certain wicked men, the children of iniquity, and he prevailed against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and not advanced in years and did not know what to say, and did not comfort the people concerning the heavy yoke which Solomon his father had laid upon them.

8 And even now what can you say? You went away and renounced the kingdom of the house of David and went and served dead gods. And I reign over a single tribe, but you over many tribes, and there are with you golden calves which Jeroboam the son of Nebat made for you.

9 And you have cast out the priests the sons of Aaron and the Levites, and have made priests for yourselves of the people of the land. And whosoever comes to offer an offering, you take from him a young bullock and seven rams, and he becomes a priest of them that are not gods.

10 But as for us, we have not forsaken the LORD our God, and the priests, who minister to the LORD, are the sons of Aaron, and the Levites serve as they should;

11 They offer to the LORD every morning and every evening burnt offering and sweet incense, and set the shewbread in order upon the pure table; and the candlestick of gold with its lamps, and a boy having charge of the lamps lights them every evening; thus we have charge of the ordinances of the LORD our God;

12 But you have forsaken him and have gone after dead gods, and you serve them and worship them; and have forsaken the LORD God of your fathers, therefore you shall not prosper in the world.

13 But Jeroboam caused an ambush to come about behind them; so they were before Judah, and the ambush was behind them.

14 And when Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind; and they cried unto the LORD, and the priests sounded with the trumpets.

15 And it came to pass when the men of the house of Judah shouted, the LORD defeated Jeroboam the son of Nebat and all Israel before Judah and Abijah.

16 And the children of Israel fled before Judah;

17 And Abijah slew them with a great slaughter; so there fell slain of Israel five hundred thousand young men.

18 Thus the children of Israel were defeated at that time. and the children of Judah prevailed, because they said, We rely upon the LORD God of our fathers.

19 And Abijah pursued Jeroboam, and took some great cities from him, Beth-el with its pastures, Shelah with its pastures, and Ephron with its pastures.

20 Neither did Jereboam recover strength again in the days of Abijah; and the LORD struck Jeroboam, and he died.

21 But Abijah became strong, and he married fourteen wives, and there were born to him twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters.

22 And the rest of the acts of Abijah and his ways, behold, are written in the poems of the prophet Iddo.

2 Он царствовал в Иерусалиме три года.	2 He reigned three years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Maachah the daughter of Uriel of Ramtha.
3 Авия собрал четыреста тысяч храбрых воинов в свою армию и повёл их на битву. В войске Иеровоама насчитывалось восемьсот тысяч храбрых воинов, и они приготовились к войне с Авией.	3 And Abijah mobilized an army of valiant men of war, four hundred thousand young men, who took upon themselves to go and fight against Jeroboam the son of Nebat. And Jeroboam also had mobilized an army, and he came to fight against him with eight hundred thousand young men, being mighty men of valour.
4 Авия взошёл на Цемариамскую гору, в горной стране Ефрема, и сказал: «Иеровоам и весь Израиль, слушайте меня!	4 And Abijah stood up upon mount Zemaraim, which is in the border of mount Ephraim, and said. Hear me, O Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and all Israel;

Бог дал это право Давиду согласно соглашению соли.	5 Perhaps you know that the LORD God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant pertaining to the kingship.
6 Но Иеровоам, сын Навата, восстал против своего господина! Иеровоам был одним из слуг Соломона, сына Давида.	6 Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, rose up and rebelled against his lord.
7 Затем никчёмные и плохие люди объединились с Иеровоамом и пошли вместе с ним против Ровоама, сына Соломона. Ровоам же был молод и неопытен и поэтому не смог устоять против них.	7 And he gathered to him certain wicked men, the children of iniquity, and he prevailed against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and not advanced in years and did not know what to say, and did not comfort the people concerning the heavy yoke which Solomon his father had laid upon them.
8 Теперь ты, Иеровоам, и народ Израиля вместе с тобой строите планы против царства Господа. Царство Господа принадлежит сыновьям Давида. You went away and renounced the kingdom of the house of David and went and served dead gods. Израильтяне, не воюйте против Господа, Бога ваших предков, потому что вам не будет сопутствовать успех!»	12 But you have forsaken him and have gone after dead gods, and you serve them and worship them; and have forsaken the LORD God of your fathers, therefore you shall not prosper in the world.
13 Но Иеровоам послал отряд воинов, чтобы они зашли с тыла войска Авии. Войско Иеровоама стояло перед войском Авии, а его отряд в засаде находился позади войска Авии.	13 But Jeroboam caused an ambush to come about behind them; so they were before Judah, and the ambush was behind them.
14 Когда воины из иудейского войска оглянулись, они увидели, что войско Иеровоама атаковало их и спереди, и сзади. Тогда иудеи воззвали к Господу, а священники затрубили в трубы.	14 And when Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind; and they cried unto the LORD, and the priests sounded with the trumpets.
15 Все иудеи издали громкий клич, и, когда они закричали, Бог поразил войско Иеровоама. Всё израильское войско было разбито войском Авии из Иудеи.	15 And it came to pass when the men of the house of Judah shouted, the LORD defeated Jeroboam the son of Nebat and all Israel before Judah and Abijah.
16 Израильтяне побежали от иудеев. Бог позволил иудеям поразить израильское войско.	16 And the children of Israel fled before Judah;
17 Войско Авии нанесло сильное поражение израильскому войску, и было тогда убито пятьсот тысяч лучших воинов Израиля.	17 And Abijah slew them with a great slaughter; so there fell slain of Israel five hundred thousand young men.
18 Народ Израиля потерпел поражение, а народ Иудеи одержал победу. Они победили, потому что полагались на Господа, Бога их предков.	18 Thus the children of Israel were defeated at that time. and the children of Judah prevailed, because they said, We rely upon the LORD God of our fathers.
19 Авия преследовал войско Иеровоама и захватил города Вефиль, Иешану и Ефрон, а также селения вокруг них.	19 And Abijah pursued Jeroboam, and took some great cities from him, Beth-el with its pastures, Shelah with its pastures, and Ephron with its pastures.
20 Иеровоам так никогда снова и не обрёл силы, пока был жив Авия. Господь убил Иеровоама,	20 Neither did Jereboam recover strength again in the days of Abijah; and the LORD struck Jeroboam, and he died.
21 а Авия стал могущественным царём. У него было четырнадцать жён, и стал он отцом двадцати двух сыновей и шестнадцати дочерей.	21 But Abijah became strong, and he married fourteen wives, and there were born to him twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters.
